Allan K.M. Lam

Company Founder

Allan brings over 45 years of professional experience in the property and casualty (P&C) insurance market, having held various roles in technical underwriting, loss control, and agency management. Before founding Sun Chong Fung, he held a senior position at a major insurance company.

Allan holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) and has undergone extensive overseas maritime training in Sweden, the U.K., and Japan during his tenure as an underwriter. He has particular expertise in advising on and handling high-value, complex cargo claims.

Allan has over 45 years of professional experience in the P&C insurance market, encompassing different roles in technical underwriting, loss control and agency management.  He has held senior position in a major insurance company before venturing into setting up his own agency firm, namely Sun Chong Fung.

Allan has a Master of Business Administration degree and during his tenure as an underwriter, he has received extensive overseas maritime training in Sweden, U.K and Japan.  He was particularly experienced in advising and handling high value and complex cargo claims.

Allan has now retreated from the front line and currently advises the company on strategic business directions.

Timothy Lam

Director & Responsible Officer

Timothy is currently leading team of insurance specialists, providing tailored risk solutions to clients across various scales and business segments. He also oversees the company’s operations and drives strategic initiatives. Prior to joining Sun Chong Fung, Timothy served as Commercial Insurance Underwriting Manager at Hang Seng General Insurance, where he managed the P&C risk portfolio for the bank’s commercial and institutional clients, collaborating closely with the insurance business development teams to boost revenue in the non-life segment. 

Timothy began his insurance career in 2003 as an executive trainee at Marsh Hong Kong, later moving into business development and underwriting at MSIG Insurance (Hong Kong) Ltd. He holds a B.A. from York University, Canada, and an M.Sc. from Edinburgh Napier University, UK.  He has also completed the Advanced Diploma in Shipping and Logistics, co-organized by The Shippers’ Council and HKU, as well as receiving overseas training at the Insurance School (Non-Life) of Japan. Timothy is a Fellow of the Australian and New Zealand Institute of Insurance and Finance (CIP).

His core expertise lies in advising corporate clients on marine, property, and liability risks.  Timothy is fluent in Cantonese and Mandarin and is a native English speaker.

Aitken Lam

Associate Director 

Aitken is the appointed Associate Director for Sun Chong Fung Insurance Agency. In this role, he oversees the strategic direction of business placing, development and technical advisory for all lines of insurance business.

 

Aitken has almost 10 years of experience in Insurance in both Singapore and Hong Kong with a specialty focus on Marine Insurance classes; undertaking roles mainly in insurance underwriting, also including marketing, customer service, and new product development. Prior to this, he was based in Singapore working for a Fortune 500 Insurance company and oversaw a portfolio of regional clients (Mainland China, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Japan and Bangladesh) with various insurance needs (Property, General Liability, Marine Hull, Marine P&I and Marine Cargo).

 

He holds a Bachelor of Art (Political Science) awarded by Simon Fraser University, holds the Certificate in General Insurance from both Singapore (Singapore College of Insurance) and is an Associate at the  Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (ACIArb).

Ann Kwok

Associate Director 

Ann joined Sun Chong Fung in 2018 and is responsible for servicing key accounts, advising clients primarily in the media and entertainment, property development and investment, logistics, and freight forwarding industries.

Before joining Sun Chong Fung, she held various key roles in underwriting and business development with international insurers, financial institutions, and major brokerage firms.

Ann is proficient in both commercial and personal lines insurance products. She has extensive experience in leading constructive claim settlement negotiations, consistently achieving balanced outcomes for both the insured and the risk carrier.

Calton So

Associate Director 

Calton joined Sun Chong Fung in 1990 and is responsible for servicing key accounts, advising clients primarily in the retail, engineering, property development, property management, and F&B industries. 

He is proficient in both commercial and personal lines insurance products.
